UKRENERGO PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED THE PLAN OF THE MEASURES IMPLEMENTATION WITHIN INTEGRATION OF THE UKRAINIAN ENERGY SYSTEM INTO ENTSO-E
NPC “Ukrenergo”held a panel discussion “Integration of the Ukrainian energy system into ENTSO-E: key challenges and tasks” on 8 November 2017 within XV International Forum “Fuel and Energy Complex of Ukraine: the present and the future”. For the first time ever the top-managers of the Company presented the complete plan regarding implementation of the necessary measures towards integration of the Ukrainian energy system into ENTSO-E.
The energy experts, generation representatives, equipment producers, subcontractors, civic organizations and journalists participated in the discussion.
Vsevolod Kovalchuk, CEO at Ukrenergo, started with the key opportunities, internal and external risks as well as the positive outcomes of the Ukrainian energy system integration into ENTSO-E.
Mykhailo Bno-Airiian, Chief Communications and International Affairs Officer at Ukrenergo, elucidated on the main aspects of cooperation with ENTSO-E and on key conditions for Ukrenergo to obtain the observer member status in ENTSO-E.
The next part of the discussion was dedicated to the technical aspects of the synchronization. Hence, Mykyta Vyshnevskii, Head of the electricity market development department, presented main requirements to the additional calculations of the steady states and dynamics of the power system to ensure the integration.
Oleksii Mahda, project and program manager within non-material production, shared experience regarding implementation of the measures within Catalogue of Requirements as well as generation and other participants within the process.
A great deal of attention was paid as well to the energy infrastructure development in the future integration. Oleksii Brekht, Executive Director of the “Scientific and Research Center for development of the Ukrainian energy system”, told the audience about development vision and grid modernization in parallel operation with ENTSO-E.
Volodymyr Kudrytskii, Chief Investments and Strategy Officer at Ukrenergo, drew attention to the financing of measures within integration into ENTSO-E. He described the costs of different actions, analyzing expenditures and benefits.
Financing aspects as well as disconnection of the Ukrainian energy system from those of the Russian Federation and Belarus provoked the lively debate right after the presentations of all speakers.
