On 13 February, in Brussels (Belgium), ENTSO-E Secretary-General Laurent Schmitt and Deputy CEO for Communications and International Cooperation Mykhailo Bno-Airiian with the participation of Chair of the company’s Supervisory Board Sevki Acuner signed an agreement on the participation of Ukrenergo in the ENTSO-E Cooperation Beyond Membership Programme for 2019-2021.
The purpose of the programme is to strengthen cooperation between Ukrenergo and ENTSO-E through a dedicated training programme.
The key components of the partnership programme provide for the study of operation experience and development trends in the European energy market and personnel training. In particular, the programme includes the participation of Ukrenergo employees in training seminars on the electricity market development, overloads management, cross-border transfer capacity allocation, RES integration, ensuring power system flexibility, market integration, development of ancillary services, electronic data exchange in the electricity market, transparency and cybersecurity, power grids planning development, implementation of innovations, etc.
Ther training programem will allow Ukrenergo to deepen the understanding of the processes and development trends in the European energy market, into which the Ukrainian power system will be integrated in future.
“The unique Cooperation Beyond Membership Programme established by ENTSO-E will help us better understand the processes and practices of the Continental Europe power system operation and strengthen our cooperation with ENTSO-E,” noted Deputy CEO for Communications and International Cooperation of SE NPC Ukrenergo Mykhailo Bno-Airiian.
