The specialists of Ukrenergo’s procurement functions started the special training sessions under the programme developed by Kyiv School of Economics. The professional procurement training programme was developed by the Procurement Improvement Centre of Kyiv School of Economics within the project “Transparency and accountability in public administration and services” launched by USAID and adjusted taking into account Ukrenergo needs.
Ukrenergo was among the first state companies that initiated the comprehensive training for its procurement specialists. Forty specialists of the company will participate in the training. The programme covers all key stages of the process, namely the planning of needs, formation and management of categories, conclusion of an agreement, control over its execution, etc.
During five weeks, the participants will be working in project groups, and after the course’s completion, they will pass a test and defend their projects, which, in turn, will correspond with the company’s actual cases.
“Our purpose is to create a highly professional and effective procurement system of the European level. The training will allow us to significantly improve the procurement service function within the company and become a pre-requisite for our successful transformation. We are currently developing the procurement strategy for Ukrenergo and implementing the category management, applying the best world experience in procurement management,” said Maryna Bezrukova, Director for Supply Chain Management at Ukrenergo.
