On May 22, Ukrenergo signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of the transmission system development with China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co., Ltd. (CET, China).
This is the first document on cooperation signed between the national TSO of Ukraine and the Chinese power industry giant for the implementation of projects on the transmission system development.
Today, the Chinese technology market holds leading positions in the global arena together with the well-known European and American brands. Moreover, Chinese contractors have a reputation of providers delivering fast and high-quality package services, as evidenced by relevant international assessments and certificates.
This also applies to CET. Today, it is one of the largest companies, which operates in more than 40 countries and has significant experience in implementing energy projects on a turnkey basis: from project development to equipment delivery, installation and maintenance. At the same time, they use project solutions and leading technologies, in particular, those related to automation and introduction of “smart grid,” that are maximally adapted to the individual characteristics of a region, the requirements regarding safety, environmental protection and legislation of the country.
The Memorandum stipulates the establishment of a working group composed of the specialists from Ukrenergo and CET on technical, legal, financial and administrative issues for cooperation in the implementation of Ukraine’s power system development projects.
“The Memorandum of Understanding will provide an impetus for accelerating the process of launching projects for the development of power grid infrastructure,” Tetiana Maksymets, the First Deputy Minister, commented on the signing of the document in a press release by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.
