Representatives of Ukrenergo visited the Polish transmission system operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A (PSE).During the visit, they discussed the forthcoming changes in the conditions of parallel operation with ENTSO-E of the Polish control block, which includes the Burshtyn Power Plant Island. The above changes are related to the adoption of new European network codes.
Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne is a member of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity ENTSO-E. It is a strategic state-owned company that provides electricity transmission services and operates the Polish power system, taking into account the conditions of synchronous operation with the power systems of other European countries.
During the meeting, the participants discussed, in particular, the organisation of secondary control over the joint control block and the Burshtyn Power Plant Island, as well as the procedure for compensating for unintentional deviations of power flows from the planned values. The parties agreed on further cooperation regarding the renewal of the contractual framework in this direction.
In addition, Polish colleagues shared their plans about upgrading their own grid to eliminate bottlenecks arising from the integration of renewable energy sources into the Polish power system.
The parties also discussed the conditions for the future joint training of Ukrenergo and PSE dispatchers in accordance with the requirements of Methodology 8 of the ENTSO-E Operation Handbook “Operational Personnel Preparation” and the possibility of holding common auctions for the allocation of holding common auctions for cross-border capacity allocation.
