On 10 December, Ukrenergo and Moldelectrica signed the Operation agreement on establishment of the control block within the power systems of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”). The signing of this document means the performance of a significant part of measures on integration of the power systems of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova into the European power system ENTSO-E planned for 2018 in accordance with the Agreement on conditions of the future interconnection of the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova with the power system of the Continental Europe.
On behalf of SE NPC Ukrenergo, the Agreement was signed by Deputy CEO for Operational Management Vitalii Zaichenko; on behalf of Moldelectrica – by Deputy Director General – Head of Central Dispatching Unit Vyacheslav Zastavnetsky.
300 pages of the Agreement contain general technological aspects, provisions and technical specifications for ensuring the parallel operation of the power systems of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, fully compliant with the requirements and rules of ENTSO-E.
The parties also developed a fast procedure for making amendments to the Agreement, required as of the moment of integration of the power systems into ENTSO-E. This procedure will allow us to rapidly establish cooperation relations during the interconnection of the power systems with ENTSO-E.
“As of today, the Agreement regulates and ensures parallel operation of the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova. In the future, however, it will ensure the synchronous operation with the power system of the Continental Europe ENTSO-E. To regulate load and frequency within the power systems of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, the Agreement approves all necessary technological specifications in accordance with the European rules and standards,” noted Deputy CEO for Operational Management – Chief Dispatcher of SE NPC Ukrenergo Vitalii Zaichenko.
In addition, the parties agreed on the quarterly monitoring of the execution of the Agreement’s conditions.
