The Government approved and published the Plan of action for synchronisation of the integrated power system of Ukraine with the association of the power systems of member states of the European Union. It was developed and submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry with the direct participation of SE NPC Ukrenergo.
“This is the second important step our country made towards the European energy integration and independence. First, the Energy Strategy was approved, and now we have a clear action plan for this difficult and responsible process,” noted Mykhailo Bno-Airiian, Deputy CEO for Communications and International Cooperation at Ukrenergo.
“The implementation of the mentioned organisational and technical measures will allow increasing the current level of the country’s energy security, improving the quality of providing national consumers with electricity and creating conditions for the connection of the integrated power system of Ukraine to the European Network of Transmission System Operators,” reports the Government’s website.
On its part, Ukrenergo welcomes the CMU order on approving the plan of action for synchronisation of the Ukrainian power system with the European one, specifying a clear division of responsibility areas.
