  • Modernisation of 220 kV substation “Berezan” in the home stretch

A high level of automation, innovative technologies and modern equipment from leading manufacturers –the reconstruction of 220 kV substation “Berezan” in Mykolaiv region is on its finishing stage.

The works are performed within a short period, as it is a substation that receives electricity from South-Ukraine NPP, Kryvorizka TPP and a number of wind power plants and supplies it to a popular resort area and agricultural enterprises.

The overhaul of 220 kV transformer 1T, laying of cables, debugging of equipment and land improvements are still underway at the substation. The new equipment of open switchgear 220 kV and 35 kV and 220 kV transformer T2 have already been put in operation.

However, most of the works have already been completed. “Berezan” is ready to receive the electricity generated by solar power plants actively built in the region. By the way, as of today, the capacity of the solar power plant “Voskhod Solar” in Berezanka is the largest in Ukraine and reaches 54 MW. The full launch of the solar panel fields is expected during September.
