  • Due to reconstruction of “Berezan” substation, the power system added more than 50 MW of “green” capacity

Within the shortest term and with using innovative technology, open switchgear 220 and 35 kV were rehabilitated at SS 220 kV Berezan in Mykolaiv region, with the installation of gas-insulated equipment, transformers for own needs and arc suppression coils.

In addition, general substation control point and close switchgear 10 kV, as well as oil retainer and fire tanks, were also installed.

This rehabilitation will significantly contribute to the reliability of power transmission and enable implementing the potential of “green” generation in the Southern region. Installation at the substation of a new transformer (T2) with the capacity of 63 MVA will allow increasing the delivery in the power system of Ukraine of 53.4 MW of capacities of solar power plants owned by “Voskhod Solar”, connected to the switchgear of Berezan substation.

In 2019, Ukrenergo plans to continue the modernisation of “Berezan”. Due to the installation of the second and more powerful transformer, the grid transfer capacity and the reliability of substation’s operation in general will significantly increase.

The substation powers the settlements in Mykolaiv region, including the resort town of Koblevo.
