Ukrenergo will not be able to compensate the expenses of the Guaranteed buyer to pay for the green tariff to RES producers, if the decision of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv to suspend Resolutions of the NEURC #954 and #955 of 7.06.2019, which set tariffs for Ukrenergo for electricity transmission and dispatch control services, is not repealed. Accordingly, the Guaranteed Buyer will not be able to fully pay for the electricity generated by RES producers. This is according to the head of SE NPC Ukrenergo Vsevolod Kovalchuk.
As we reported previously, the lawsuit was filed by JSC Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (No.640/11330/19).
We have explained on multiple occasions that the change in Ukrenergo’s tariffs since July 2019 is not due to the fact that now electricity transmission supposedly is more expensive, or that we have come up with a new scheduling service. This is merely bringing the relations between market participants in line with the requirements of the Law “On the Electricity Market”. Moreover, our tariff has not grown by a factor, it’s just that from now on we have to pay for what was previously paid for by SE Energorynok, which is no longer present in the new market model. It’s just a TRANSFER of a portion of costs, which did not affect the consumer prices, as opposed to other things that we mentioned earlier, Kovalchuk said.
