Ukrenergo has started a partnership with the UK’s Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) with the view to have Ukrenergo’s procurement system certified according to international standards.
Cooperation under the CIPS Procurement Excellence programme involves a comprehensive analysis of NPC Ukrenergo’s procurement procedures, management effectiveness evaluation, compliance of the supply chain management system with the overall business strategy of the company, risk management.
This certification will help optimise the company’s costs, which means improved operational efficiency, enhances the company’s competitive advantage in the international market by enhancing procurement transparency.
“CIPS certification is a clear indication of the successful transformation of Ukrenergo’s purchasing activities into a supply chain management function aligned with international standards. This will greatly increase the efficiency and transparency of the procurement process, as well as the reputation of the company among key stakeholders. In addition, CIPS membership opens up access to international experience and information resources, discussion venues, and procurement and logistics developments around the world, which will allow us to stay abreast of key trends and refine our approaches to international best practices ”, said Ukrenergo’s Board Member Maryna Bezrukova.
Analysis of procurement processes, staff training and certification is stipulated in the Memorandum concluded between Ukrenergo and CIPS in 2019. The project is being implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
CIPS’s procurement standards are recognized worldwide and applied by the UN, the World Bank, the IMF, Google, Microsoft and other international organisations.
