NPC Ukrenergo and SEPS, Slovakian transmission system operator, have signed an updated Operational Agreement on the system and grid management, which fully complies with requirements of ENTSO-E’s new network codes and the Synchronous Area Framework Agreement (SAFA) between ENTSO-E’s TSOs. Updating the operational agreements with neighbouring European system operations in accordance with new requirements of European laws is one of the mandatory conditions for the integration of the IPS of Ukraine to ENTSO-E’s power system of Continental Europe.
The Operational Agreement with SEPS establishes rules and requirements to ensure the synchronous operation of the Burshtyn TPP Island and Slovakian power system, and the interaction procedure between transmission system operators during the joint operation of the interconnector OHL 440 kV Mukacheve—Veľké Kapušany. The document regulates the processes of interaction during the joint operation of equipment, the procedures to plan modes and cross-border flows, data exchange requirements, line maintenance measures, etc.
All activities of drafting and agreeing the Operational Agreement and its annexes were carried out under quarantine restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and were accomplished thanks to the significant improvement of communication between Ukrenergo and SEPS.
