Ukrenergo has signed a Contract with Elia Grid International for the provision of consulting services in rebuilding (re-engineering) of the dispatch control function and successful integration of Ukraine’s power grid into ENTSO-E.
Experts of Elia Grid International will analyse how the new market model is affecting the power system of Ukraine, propose a structure of internal business processes and the roadmap of their implementation in line with ENTSO-E standards.
The Contract also envisages consultancy support in adaptation of existing rules, codes and instructions of the IPS of Ukraine to their counterpart ENTSO-E documents and regulations. A number of studies will be conducted in the scope of the Contract, such as of the interconnector capacity and data exchange between the IPS of Ukraine and ENTSO-E. It is an essential part of future proper operation of the power systems in the parallel mode.
This activity is part of the Second Power Transmission Project financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with the price of the project of almost 812 thousand EUR. The services will be provided until the end of 2020.
In addition to the above, the cooperation will involve a series of workshops for Ukrenergo dispatchers at national and regional dispatch control centres of Elia Grid International, as well as at the regional centre of Coreso/TSCnet in Brussels, starting in October.
Implementation of European standards and principles in the power grid management will allow to elevate Ukrenergo’s dispatching function to the top standards of efficiency and reliability, thus enabling effective and safe integration of Ukraine’s power system into ENTSO-E.
