On 28 July, NPC Ukrenergo issued to Dobrotvirska TPP of PJSC DTEK Zakhidenergo certificates of compliance with requirements for ancillary services (AS) and included the power plant into the Register of AS Providers. It is the 18th power plant authorized to provide ancillary services in the bidding zone of the Integrated Power System (IPS) of Ukraine.
Certificates were issued to Dobrotvirska TPP for:
- secondary control – manual frequency restoration reserves (mFRR) per 26 MW for upward and downward loading;
- tertiary control – replacement reserves (RR) per 32 MW for upward and downward loading.
It is to be recalled that in the bidding zone of the IPS of Ukraine, the total volume of certified frequency containment reserves (FCR) is ±239 MW, automatic FRR – 1,649 MW (±913 MW), manual FRR – 4,091 MW (-4,040), RR – 4,840 MW.
As of 28 July, 8 HPPs, 8 TPPs, 1 CHP and 1 NPP are certified in the ancillary services market of the IPS of Ukraine.
The primary, secondary and tertiary control are used by the transmission system operator to maintain the reliable operation of the power system and contain frequency at the nominal level (50 Hz).
