Ukrenergo has started testing the power units at Burshtynska TPP for compliance with requirements for the ancillary services provider.
On 9—12 June, Power Units No. 7 and No. 10 were tested for the provision of services of the automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR) in the volume of 70 MW, the manual Frequency Restoration Reserve (mFRR) in the volume of 70 MW and the Replacement Reserve (RR) in volume of 140 MW. Ukrenergo experts are currently reviewing the test results.
In general, the plan is to test 11 power units of Burshtynska TPP for compliance with requirements for the ancillary services provider.
It is worth reminding that currently the ancillary services are not procured at Burshtynska TPP Island because there are no suppliers in this trade area.
In the trade area of the Integrated Power System (IPS) of Ukraine, 11 power plants can participate in auctions of the purchase of ancillary services. Eight of which are HPPs that belong to the state-owned PJSC Ukhydroenergo, Kurakhivska TPP of DTEK Skhidenergo, Kharkivska CHPP–5, and Zaporizka TPP of DTEK Dniproenergo.
The total volume of certified reserves in the power system is ± 115 MW, aFRR 1,449 MW (± 724.5 MW), mFRR 3,696 MW (-3,645), and RR 4,263 MW.
